We are seeking experienced and trained nursing staff for a new 60 bed sub-acute facility in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town providing high quality care to patients of all ages.

This brand new, high end facility is located near the Blue Route Mall and in close proximity to all major transport routes.

Duties Include But Is Not Limited To The Following

• Handover
• Ensure proper handover according to ISBAR process
• Administration and reporting
• Ensure proper administration during shift on all areas
• Staff Allocation and management
• Ensure all operational requirements are met through efficient staff allocation
• Attend to performance and disciplinary issues and ensure a motivated workforce
• Medication
• Ensure residents receive medication as per most recent scripts
• Interaction with professionals
• Ensure open and proffessional communication with outside healthcare professionals
• Resident Admissions and discharges
• Ensure proper and agreed admission and discharge process followed
• Step Down
• Ensure progress reports are sent at agreed times to medical aid
• Catering
• Ensure tray and diet lists are approved every day
• Clinical Tasks
• Ensure clinical tasks are completed and charted on ECP
• Emergency and deaths
• Ensure proper procedure is followed in the case of an emergency and/ or death

Requirements

Qualifications

Relevant nursing qualification, SANC registered

Experience and Knowledge

Dementia care, frail care, sub acute, palliative care, rehab, strokes, orthopedic, care for patient for IV therapy / chemo therapy or IV therapy

Skills and Attributes 

Strong interpersonal skills, professional communication, ability to work under pressure, managerial skills, making sound decisions, computer literate, professional, focused, fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English, compassion for the elderly, be able to converse with people on different levels - staff, families, MDT and other professionals coming into the facility.

Working Hours - Normal working days are Monday to Sunday. You will be required to work 16 shifts per month. Day shifts will be worked between 07h00 to 19h00 and night shifts between 19h00 and 07h00
