Shipping Co ordinator at Givaudan

Job description

We are looking for a Shipping Coordinator for our site in Tulisa Park, South Africa. In this role you will be expected to perform various day-to-day administrative tasks related to inbound materials transportation and outbound orders shipping in coordination with Warehouse Operations and Customer Care with the objective to minimize transport costs while providing the necessary level of service to meet operational requirements and customer satisfaction.

Administration You will perform a range of administrative activities to facilitate the timely and accurate shipment of materials, equipment, products, packages, and documents. You will prepare and maintain shipping records; prepare bills of lading; compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weights, and volumes.

Transport and Deliveries You will coordinate the incoming and outgoing transport within an assigned area. You will coordinate transport complaints and implement corrective solution within due time. You will monitor and track the delivery of materials/products to inbound/outbound or customer warehouse(s) as per agreed/committed date. You will provide special follow-up on shipments of critical materials. You will optimise and/or introduce flows related to transport and distribution.

Shipping Costs You will communicate with external organisations (for example customs authorities or shipping agents) to verify customs requirements and negotiate shipping costs and times.

Your professional profile includes

• Matric
• Diploma in Logistics
• Overall work experience of 1 to 2 years in logistics in a manufacturing environment
• Good understanding of shipping and receiving regulations and protocol
• Good knowledge of local and international material/product safety/security norms and regulations
• Knowledge of supply chain dependencies and processes
• Basic knowledge of production process flow and scheduling
• Good computer skills (MS Office, SAP)
