Emerson Automation Solutions currently has a new role for a Warehouse Supervisor to be based in our Gauteng office, South Africa that offers skills enhancement in personnel safety equipment, warehouse management, document handling, stock control and employee relations.

The position will be reporting to the Operations Manager and is responsible for overseeing warehouse and valve automation facility and logistics staffs as part of supply chain activities to distribute equipment on time and in accordance with customer order requirements and deliver desired outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist in daily warehouse, shipping and valve automation facility by ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety act requirements enforcing safety regulations and interpreting company policies.
• Keep required statutory logs of warehouse and valve automation facility equipment, and ensure required servicing and inspections are carried out to manage material and equipment flow through the warehouse and valve automation facility.
• Liaise with logistics staff and other management, as necessary, to co-ordinate warehouse operations activities.
• Maintain a structured filing system for all documentation to ensure accuracy of shipments, and supporting documentation.
• Accurately file, label and pack equipment per customer order requirements to generate pick and packing documentation.
• Manage and develop the warehouse storage system by accurate logging and overseeing stock counts and reconciliation activities.
• Manage the valve automation facility activities to ensure completion of valve assembly and testing activities in accordance to customer order requirements by undertaking the activities physically.
• Identify measures to continuously improve quality of service, increasing the efficiency of department and work crew and equipment, and implement such measures after consultation with the Operations manager.
• Ensure accurate deliveries from suppliers.
• Obtained signed POD’s received forward it to logistics.
• Generate vehicle condition reports.
• Report incidents immediately
• Maintain quality control procedures during assembly of automated valves by testing and verifying correct functioning of assembled automated valves prior customer inspection
• Develop constructive and cooperative working relationships by mentoring doing problem solving, negotiating, and address staff challenges.

Requirements

You must at least have these following qualifications:

• 3-4 years’ experience in warehouse supervision
• Attention to detail.
• Proficient or ability to learn operation of selected test instrumentation (signal sources, multi-meters, power supplies), and mechanical tools
• Familiarity with general workshop equipment
• Knowledge of general business computer software and aptitude to learn new software applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to meet physical requirements including: a variety of standing, sitting and walking throughout the day
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrated excellence in customer service
• Flexible attitude to work hours to meet priorities and travel commitments
