Key Purpose Statement

Responsible for providing an accurate Statistical Base Demand Forecasts for a portion of the Africa zone. Analysis of impacts to forecast accuracy as well as communication around how this can be rectified or minimized in future. Making use of analysis to validate template information received from the Collaborative Demand team.

Competence Requirements

• University Degree Preferred in Statistics, Maths, Engineering or Supply Chain
• Excellent knowledge of Statistics and Forecasting algorithms
• Strong analytical ability to convert data into valuable business insights
• Good communication skills
• Familiarity with Supply chain principles, working with numbers, and picking up patterns in large amount of data. (Attention to detail highly important)
• Advanced ability to use SAP, MS Excel, and databases
• Excellent presentation, report drafting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to solve complex issues from problem framing to recommendations

Output and Accountabilities

• Demand Planning Tool maintenance (Masterdata and forecast horizon etc.)
• Data Preparation and Segmentation
• Clean Historical Data (Cleansing and Normalisation)
• Create Baseline Forecast in system
• NPD demand capture (Challenge template volumes or profile if and when required)
• Trend analysis
• Management of Demand on Discontinuations
• Demand sensing
• Forecast Update (Including communications to relevant stakeholders: Planning, Finance, etc.)
• Assess results and get approval (influence changes to improve accuracy)

Reporting

• Be able to communicate changes made as well as why it was made.
• Foresee impact on forecast en keep record of past performance against assumptions for future use
