    Operations Controller & Navitrans

    Main Purpose

    Provide support in the execution of orders and requests for operations through Navitrans application

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, organise and prioritise work;
    • Ensure that the service levels required by the clients and suppliers are delivered;
    • Ensure that all customer, supplier and Impala queries are resolved accurately and in timely manner;
    • Opening of all MTC’s, monitoring and controlling the accurate and timely completion of all MTC’s;
    • Revenue management - ensure timely and accurate issuance of settlement proposals and payment to suppliers, generation of revenue/services in Navitrans to ensure invoicing to clients, reconciliation and closure of projects profit and loss accounts;
    • Reconciliation of cross team processes (such as Settlement Proposals, delivery, invoicing, payments);
    • Procurement of various modes of transport (Rail, Road and Sea Freight via shipping team);
    • Book ,process and monitor sea-freight shipments from packing at warehouse to delivery at Port of Discharge
    • Regular tracking and reporting of the goods to the clients and other Impala teams as required, including pre-alerts, stock reports, forecasts, receipts and dispatches from warehouse;
    • Manage the forwarding ,tracking and reporting in accordance with our customers standard operating procedures
    • Pro-actively analyse the tracking data to find trends of poor performance by suppliers, clients and Impala and report to management with proposals for how to improvement the poor performance;
    • Investigate delays, breakdowns and report to operations manager and clients and other persons as required
    • Pro-actively manage standing time and demurrage (trucks, containers, wagons, sea freight)
    • Stock Management : Inbound and Outbound order execution
    • Stock Reconciliation per warehouse
    • Attend to all client requests and provide feedback in a professional and timeous manner;
    • Preparation and execution of quotations for business in accordance with procedures for approval by Impala Africa Management Team prior submission to client;
    • Ensure compliance with Impala internal operating procedures including recording, filing and including the input and managing of information systems (Operational and Accounting);
    • Work closely with the other departments (Operations, Finance, HR, and Customs Clearing) to ensure that both our business and client’s expectations are met;
    • Comply to country specific regulations;
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Knowledge Skills And Abilities

    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in African Logistics.
    • Tertiary education in the relevant field.
    • Strong interpersonal managements.
    • Attention to details and high level of accuracy.
    • Prioritisation skills, time management skills.
    • Team player , willing to work long hours
    • Proficient computer skills in particular in Excel, Navitrans, Qlickview and Powerpoint .
    • Analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Strong negotiations skills and the ability to understand the market that we operate in.
    • Passion for clients and the ability to support the sales process.
    • Ability to prepare and interpret profit and loss accounts.
    • Strong understanding of warehouse, transport, clearing, shipping and related operations.
    • Languages: Good master of the English language – oral and written. Additional language preferable - French, Swahili or Bemba.
