Introduction

At a macro level this role will be primarily responsible for the support and maintenance of various systems.

At a micro level this role is responsible for providing Technical support, building, maintaining and overviewing general health of trading systems.

Overview of the Position

The Environment Support Analyst will report directly into the Team Lead as part of the development community. This head will look after the person’s career aspirations and training.

• Technical Administration
• Develop and maintain scripts:
• That monitor the health of the system
• Perform regular clean up and archiving activities
• Execute various processes for end-of-day batch schedules
• Manage system performance by using System Reports, monitoring System Degradation and Capacity Planning
• Build Environments
• Build systems with specified software versions by:
• Checking out from source repositories, or
• Using pre-compiled packages.
• Execute Software releases and upgrades as well as build and maintain:
• Production
• UAT
• Dev
• Support
• Provide Technical support on trading systems Applications
• Assist with technical queries
• Analyze possible causes
• Perform corrective measures
• Monitor stability of systems during the trading day
• Perform overnight and weekend support based on weekly rotation

• B.SC Degree or Advanced Diploma in IT
• Understanding / being aware of source versioning technologies such as

• TFS
• CVS
• Other
• Experience in Linux / Windows script development
• Shell scripting
• DOS scripting
• Ant
• Experienced in working on the following Operating Systems
• Linux
• Solaris
• Windows
• 3 years minimum
• Database experience
• Sybase
• Oracle
• MS SQL 2005/2008
• 2 years minimum
• Practical experience with middleware applications
• Jboss
• Tomcat
• Practical implementation experience with build and deployment tools
• TeamCity
• Experience with batch scheduling tools
• Control-m
• Understanding of integration / messaging systems

• Experience in financial services
