General Manager: Supply Chain at Saint-Gobain

Responsibilties incude:

• Analyse the supply chain processes of the organization in order to continuously optimize our ability to:
• Meet and exceed our customer expectations with regards to service delivery (high OTIF levels)
• Improve return on investment, lowering our cost to serve
• Accommodate and become agile around and meeting unforeseen orders, keeping customer satisfaction levels high
• Manage the “Integrated Business Planning” model and the associated processes within the organization, ensuring that the model is fully functional and effective, delivering the above results
• Enable the organizations’ strategic intent and delivery by developing and implementing processes and procedures that balance the demand and supply management of the organization, acting as the glue between procurement, sales, manufacturing, warehousing and stock management and distribution in order to produce levels of service which satisfy the customer
• Create and capitalize on opportunities to increase our margins through playing an active role in, and contributing to decreasing the cost of sales and managing associated parts of our working capital
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the organisation’ strategy as an executive member of the organization and collaborating cross-functionally with your colleagues
• Ensure that our buying and supplier power continuously improves, and gives us a competitive edge, allowing us to maintain and grow our leadership position within the markets we operate in
• Lead according to the culture and values of SG and continuously develop the capability of your team members, ensuring that we have the right people in the organization, continuously improving the performance of your department

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Four-year University degree, preferably in the commerce or engineering disciplines
• A Masters in Business Administration would be an advantage
• Must have CIPS or equivalent certification
• A continuous improvement certification (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean) would be an advantage
• A minimum of two years senior management experience
• A minimum of eight years overall experience
• Exposure to Oliver Wight “intergrade business management” principles
• Manufacturing or FMCG experience
