    Junior Process Technologist

    Job description

    This individual is responsible for managing process improvement projects in a production environment, as they relate to the group's objective of supporting customer quality targets. Provide technical and process assistance to produce consistent, cost effective and high quality products:

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conducting production trials on product development suggested seasoning improvements to meet the customers’ functionality targets
    • Improve & optimise existing processes used in the production of finished products to ensure consistent, repeatable and cost effective manufacturing. Hereby resulting in reduced waste, down time and non-conforming materials.
    • Assist with the commercialisation of new products, ensuring effective conversion during trial phase from laboratory to production environment.
    • Ensure that comprehensive trial reports are published after each trial
    • Work closely with Operations, Quality and Product development teams to deliver quick effective solutions to improve customer target requirements.

    CANDIDATE PROFILE:

    • Diploma or B.Tech. in Food Technology; B.Sc. Food Science; Engineering qualification
    • Some or no experience in a FMCG Quality / Technical / NPD / Production / Process role.
    • Previous product development or process experience in dry blending - seasonings, marinades, brines and coating systems will be an advantage
    • Process Engineering experience preferred
    • High level PC skills, including Word, Excel and databases
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Excellent/Strong problem solving skills
    • Strong Team Player/Team Leader skills
    • Self-motivated & results driven approach
    • Assertive and able to deal effectively with people at all levels of the organisation
    • Ability to work to tight deadlines and to deal with constant change
    • Driver's licence & own transport required.
