Job description

CONTEXT

The purpose of Global Information Management (IM) is to enable the delivery of business processes, communication, collaboration and knowledge management through the deployment, support and maintenance of enterprise technology, infrastructure, applications and mine technical systems.

PURPOSE

To provide the appropriate SAP ELM (Employee Lifecycle Management) application support and expertise to enable the business.

TYPICAL TASKS

• Optimise business performance by enhancing the alignment between business processes and SAP ELM systems, in conjunction with business process owners 
• Work with the process owners in HR to drive the design of the overall enterprise data and process structure and develop ELM ERP solutions and roadmaps to ensure alignment. Gain consensus on new process concepts and build coalitions to move process improvement forward 
• Undertake complex process analysis, design and proposal creation, which includes complex technical problem solving in relation to the current, as well as the future business environment 
• Provide coaching and advise on the future use of technology and business process improvements in the ELM area
• Work closely with process owners and key users to understand business requirements and drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions 
• Perform functional analysis, requirements definition and SAP ELM configuration and testing, in conjunction with third party configuration teams 
• Conduct prototypes, develop functional specifications, data mapping, function mapping, setting of configuration tables and setting of transaction/control tables in partnership with third party development teams
• Manage third party vendors, ensure they are meeting or exceeding their contractual commitments for services and projects 
• Demonstrate commercial awareness and understand the business processes and flows to enable the analysis of business requirements and the development of solutions for the ELM area
• Assist in security/authorisation setup, user documentation, data interface design, data migration and reconciliation for the ELM area 
• Own the solution architecture, application plans and roadmap for SAP ELM and acts as the design authority for SAP ELM solutions across the group 
• Lead and supervise development of solutions across projects and enhancements in the ELM scope - Drive the adoption of best practice and enforce the use of standard systems and solutions for ELM applications 
• Keep up to date with technology trends and developments and use proof of concepts (POC's) to trial new technologies where appropriate 
• Act as the key specialist point of contact for application management services (AMS) service providers in problem solving and investigations related to incidents in the ELM area
• Ensure the knowledge underpinning application/service delivery is documented, managed and maintained 
• Work with the operations teams to identify, plan and execute service improvements

Requirements:

Formal qualifications: 

An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors degree or equivalent) in the relevant IM discipline. Desirable: It would be advantageous to have a post graduate qualification in the relevant IM discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity

Role-specific knowledge: 

Knowledge of:
