Job description

Responsibilities:

The Basis position is responsible for building, Maintaining and Supporting Enterprise SAP System landscapes and guaranteeing that the SAP Systems and Databases are running efficiently. This position contributes to support and project work for implementations, migrations and extensions. In addition, this position covers the Software Upgrades and patches, Restart, Backup & Recovery, Software and Database Tuning.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12, NQF Level 4,
• Relevant National Diploma or Degree,
• SAP Basis Certification
• At least 8 years SAP skills 4 completed projects and/or 4 years minimum support multi-client environments, including minor projects

Job Requirements:

• 10+ years of Basis DBA experience in at least 3 of the following Databases: DB2, Oracle, Sybase ASE, SAP HANA, MS SQL Server
• Experience in installing, implementing & upgrading SAP ABAP & Java landscapes
• Experience in SAP kernel updates, SAP database administration, landscape management, transports, printer setups and troubleshooting.
• Must be able to troubleshoot issues when users interact with systems in SAP landscape as well as working with the server and network teams to performance tune the Environment.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and resolve production errors and performance issues with clear determination of the root cause.
• Ensure all components of the SAP Backup Environment are operating properly as per design
