Project Manager at Varian Medical Systems

Job description

Major Responsibilities:

• Coordinates all aspects of a product or service offering project for a client, from inception to installation.
• Installations may involve acceptance of capitalized equipment or enterprise software systems, or system integration or consulting projects/engagements.
• Project is typically focused on the delivery of new or enhanced products to improvement of customer satisfaction through the use of technology.
• Oversees schedules and budgets to ensure goal attainment.
• Interact with sales and other members of cross-functional teams.
• Project management skills, rather than technical skills, are key, but a strong technical background is required to manage simultaneous projects.
• May work at client site from time to time.

This role requires willingness to regional travel extensively (80-85%) and prepared to work normal and non-normal hours as required

Skills & Experience Required:

• 5 years + Project Management experience, ideally within medical device/regulated industry environment
• Knowledge of the use and deployment of software in a healthcare environment, especially as applied to cancer care preferable.
• Knowledge of network design, software controls systems, and server management.
• Knowledge of construction and electrical codes, and government radiation regulations.
• Experience in field customer service, construction management or engineering.
• Must have strong customer service acumen
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Desired Skills and Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
• PMI certification is desired.
• Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP product and productivity software.
