Data Reporting Analyst at Investec Asset Management

Job description

The role requires the implementation and enhancement of reporting solutions for clients (both internal and external to IAM) through various technologies available such as vData, SQLServer, SSRS etc. The scope of the role encompasses business requirements gathering, specification generation as well as solution implementation and subsequent query resolution.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to)

• Understanding the data architecture within IAM as it relates to data being required by reporting solutions and query resolution
• Liaising with business areas to gather business requirements and translate these into specifications.
• Writing reports/extracts/queries from requirements specifications using the technologies such as SQL.
• As part of a team, own the reports and extracts ensuring global consistency and avoiding duplication by suggesting similar reports and extracts already available.
• Analyze and resolve problems in existing reports/extracts /queries and then implement corrective actions
• Assist team leader with other initiatives as when required
• Improve and where necessary put in place processes for use within the team

Technical Knowledge and Experience

• Degree qualified
• SQL Server, Transact SQL experience essential
• Minimum 4 years Investment / Asset Management experience desirable
• Experience of Data Warehouse technologies strongly recommended
• Experience of Data Marts

Systems Skills

• Data Warehouse technology
• Microsoft Technologies (SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Excel, etc.) essential
• QlikView highly desirable
