Job description

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB :

To maintain and develop business intelligence solutions using the Microsoft Stack of Technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Developing BI solutions end to end:
• ERD Dimensional Modelling database design using SQL
• ETL work to extract, transform and load data into the central data warehouse using SQL SSIS
• Report Building using SSRS and Power BI
• Requirements gathering and documentation
• Data Analysis
• Identification of data quality problems and propose and implement appropriate solutions.
• Based on queries from internal customers, the candidate will have to relate several tables (using t-sql, PowerPivot, ssas) to find anomalies in the existing data warehouse.
• Reporting
•  building integrated dashboards

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• National Diploma in IT (NQF 6) with 8 years’ relevant work experience, or Bachelors in  computer science with 5 year’s relevant work experience
• Strong Excel and SQL skills
• SSIS and SSAS skills required
• Power BI or equivalent report design and development
• Willingness to learn new methodologies and technologies:
• Dimensional modelling; slowly changing dimensions; conformed dimensions etc.
• Microsoft Sql Server - Analysis Services, Integration Services etc.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal customers
• Enhance customer awareness of the BI platform and train users
• Knowledge sharing within the BI Team and assist junior developers
