    Application Development Manager(ICT)

    Job description

    Key Performance Areas.

    • The key performance areas amongst others will include:
    • Managing and developing and deploying new applications, systems software and or enhancements to existing applications throughout the organisation.
    • Ensuring that development projects are aligned to the requirements of the business.
    • Collaborating with business analysts, developers and systems owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
    • Managing and providing leadership to the application and development team in support of business applications.
    • Reviewing and analysing existing applications effectiveness and efficiency and developing strategies for improving and leveraging these systems.
    • Researching and advising and making recommendations in respect of software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
    • Coordinating feasible studies for software & systems products under consideration for purchase.
    • Taking responsibility for the development life-cycle in respect of the group’s software systems requirements.
    • Developing and implementing change control processes.
    • Becoming involved in making a significant contribution to the planning and the development of the overall ICT strategy for the group.

    Requisite Qualifications & Skills & Experience.

    Qualifications.

    • A bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology.
    • Information technology certification such as ITIL.

    Skills & Competencies & Know-How/Knowledge.

    • A well-developed understanding of the SDLC model.
    • A well-developed understanding and solid working knowledge of business analysis and business systems analysis.
    • The gravitas and EQ and AQ and interpersonal relationships to communicate & to influence & to persuade & negotiate at all levels with all stakeholders.
    • Well-developed & proven management & leadership competencies.
    • A demonstrable strategic thinking capability.
    • A solid understanding of budgeting and cost control.
    • Demonstrable well-developed and proven analytical skills.
    • Identifiable organisation and business nous.
