    Brand Manager: Local Entertainment Channels

    Job description

    M-Net Local Entertainment Channels seeks to appoint a pro-active and dedicated Employment Equity individual to assume responsibility as a Brand Manager: Mzansi Magic, on a permanent basis and be in-charge of developing and maintaining marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives. This person will report to the Head of Marketing: Local Entertainment Channels). The position is based in Randburg.

    OUTPUTS

    • Services and information which the individual must provide to external individuals or groups, to accomplish the organization’s mission and strategy and objectives for Local Entertainment Channels.
    • Contribute to the development of annual marketing plans and strategy in-line with the allocated budget and provide creative solutions
    • Conceptualize, brief-in campaigns to ad agencies, implement the campaign and ensure all the relevant processes are followed
    • Act as brand custodian for Mzansi Magic, Mzansi Wethu and Mzansi Bioskop and continually evaluate and improve the positioning of these brands to ensure that they are aligned to the company’s overall objectives, mission and vision
    • Developing and managing launch campaigns for Mzansi Channels, and overseeing their effective maintenance to achieve channel targets
    • Be in charge of and oversee all promotional communication and placements on channel by showing an understanding of audience flow viewing trends
    • Liaise with Content teams regarding promo campaigns
    • Build a good working relationship with DStv Media Sales in order to maximize the commercial potential of these channels
    • With the help of the research department, track research trends and react with appropriate plans and measures
    • Proactively manage all social media platforms and communication in relation to on-going marketing campaigns
    • Manage direct reports, promoting all the Mzansi Magic Channels and content
    • Analyze potential partner relationships both internally and externally.
    • Evaluate campaigns and fine-tune processes
    • Be in-charge of all on air-imaging and communication and liaise with the production house accordingly
    • Write monthly reports and attend meetings with relevant stakeholders to feedback on activities planned for the channels
    • Continually seek ways to improve the image of the channels and build strong awareness of these channels and shows into the relevant markets
    • Show an understanding of LSM’s 3-8 particularly the emerging markets, and with the assistance of the Head of Marketing, create appropriate measures to engage these markets
    • Budget Management and effective budget control on all projects.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • A tertiary marketing degree or brand management
    • 3--4 years’ brand Management or advertising
    • 3-4 years’ campaign briefing and execution experience
    • 1-2 years’ Experience in supervising and managing staff
    • Solid understanding of social media for marketing purposes
