    Brand and Communications Activist

    Job description

    You will fulfil the role of a brand and communications activist in TowerStone's brand business unit, reporting to the MD and working very closely with a brand strategist and graphic designer.  You will need to be a disciplined individual who can work autonomously in a flexible yet demanding work environment. 

    In the widest sense you will be contributing to fulfilling TowerStone’s Purpose: 

    TowerStone exists to help and empower leaders to find fulfilment in their workplace, so they can lead and empower their teams to find fulfilment in the workplace, inspiring all their Brand Ambassadors to drive company performance.

    The job description concentrates on activation. This entails the activation of approved plans and strategies via in-house resources and third party suppliers, which will include:

    • Clearly understanding the requirements of a plan and/or strategy.
    • Identification and motivation of tactical suppliers.
    • Briefing tactical suppliers.
    • Project managing tactical suppliers.

    Project management is central to both strategy and activation. In particular you will be responsible for:

    • Internal status meetings and updates.
    • Status reports by client.
    • Status meetings with clients.
    • Ensure quality tactics are completed on time.

    Building relationships is also essential to this job:

    • Between TowerStone Brand and the rest of TowerStone.
    • Between TowerStone and our clients.
    • Between TowerStone and our suppliers and between clients and our suppliers.

    Bringing in new business will be an important focus:

    • Identifying and hunting new business opportunities.
    • An ability to farm business from existing clients.

    General support recognises that we are a small company where we are required to assist wherever we are able. This will include:

    • Assisting with internal marketing efforts nad PR.  
    • Assisting with recruitment.
    • Assisting with the facilitation of workshops.

    Continual learning is essential for an activist so it is important that you:

    • Keep up to date with books on marketing, branding, strategy and leadership.
    • Are aware of brand, employee and consumer trends.
    • Have a general awareness of business.

    Functional skills that you will require include:

    • Client service: A strong client-centric attitude.
    • Project management: Ability to logically pursue the completion of a task.
    • Interpersonal skills: Enjoyment of working with people.
    • Communication skills: Aptitude for writing and verbal communication extending to being a good listener.
    • Presentation skills: Preparing and delivering presentations.
    • Software proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint primarily) is essential. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is advantageous.
    • Social media: A good working knowledge of social media and how it can work for business.

    The ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary-level qualification and three to five years experience.
