Design Engineer (PED / BTech / AutoCAD) at CA Global

Job Description:

The purpose of the opportunity is to prepare technical drawings of formwork and access systems using AutoCAD according to criteria provided by the Design Office Manager which will meet the customers’ requirements.

Responsibilities: 

• Produce general arrangement drawings of formwork using AUTOCAD.
• Attend meetings with Sales Engineers liaising knowledgeably and professionally and giving accurate advice regarding formwork solutions to customers.
• Produce detailed assembly drawings.
• Perform calculations independently for design checks on relevant projects.
• Design using knowledge and understanding of application of special structural steel for formwork and other applications from first principles.
• Liaise and work with the Sales Team to ensure that our Customers receive excellent service.
• Manage and lead projects effectively to conclusion, including planning and prioritization of work.
• Keep up-to-date with new trends and developments in the context of the business as a whole.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• Minimum ND, BTech or BsC
• Experience in AutoCAD
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel)
• Thorough knowledge of general construction practices
• Technically competent
• Customer-service orientated
