    Business Development Coordinator - Mining & Engineering

    Job description

    Reports to: Chief Executive Officer: SSC Group

    Job purpose

    We are looking for a Business Development Coordinator with previous engineering supervision background and technical sales experience to the mines. The position requires someone with a knowledge of solution selling rather that product selling.

    Duties will cover key account management and new business development and to assist market share in mining through the attainment of predetermined new business targets.

    These roles will include presentations and proposals to mining houses, sales administration and market research.

    Duties and responsibilities

    Key responsibilities

    • Market and sell company products and services into new & existing mining clients
    • Preparations of sales presentations and proposals
    • Sales administration and reporting
    • Market research and keeping up to breast with industry developments

    Leading

    • Achieves a minimum of 8 client facing meetings weekly
    • Works closely with clients and technical teams to unlock opportunities
    • Logs and updates all sales activities timeously
    • Achieves and maintains pipeline cover

    Lagging

    • Achieves monthly and quarterly targets consistently
    • Leverages off the strength and experience of wider team

    Qualifications & Competences

    Qualifications:

    • Tertiary qualification in marketing, sales
    • Business or engineering related degree
    • At least 5 years proven track record in consultative selling environment and exposure to technical sales.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in a senior engineering supervision/ management role
    • Extensive technical solution sales experience preferably in the mining industry

    • Ability to work under pressure to agreed deadlines and adapt to change

    • Excellent written English and the ability to communicate at all levels
    • Ability to represent the company externally with key stakeholders
    • Ability to think and prioritize independently
