Job description

Purpose of the role:

To lead and manage the HC data analytics capability so that information and reporting enables insights, trends and opportunities to better inform and direct company people practices and tactics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Business knowledge
• Demonstrate an integrated knowledge of the company value proposition and value chain (clients, products and competitors) by presenting clear and best practice business cases for HC data initiatives in response to business situations and requirements
• Macro environment
• Understand and evaluate environmental inter-dependencies, impacts and opportunities (national and global) on the implementation of data objectives
• Consider and integrate relevant macro factors into data analytics plans and make adjustments and improvements to work processes/ tactics as required
• Data analytics
• Work with stakeholders to ensure the design of effective data architecture standards and governance to enable HC reporting efficiencies
• Embed data policies and standards in alignment with company frameworks. This includes the alignment to legal, regulatory and governance requirements.
• Manage the consistent implementation of data quality metrics and standards so that information has integrity and is delivered consistently
• Define workflows for data on-boarding across multiple systems so that reporting is integrated. This includes the definition of metadata
• Identify opportunities for improved data gathering to enhance existing HC MIS to enable targeted decision making and customised reporting. This includes ensuring the provision of required regulatory and business reporting
• Work with structured and unstructured data to identify and share trends/insights with stakeholders
• Develop predictive modelling and trend analysis tools that enable stakeholders to pre-emptively determine best-fit HC tactics
• Establish best practice capabilities around data analytics to enable knowledge sharing across the HC community
• Provide users with collaboration analytic tools to enable business insights and timeous

• Project management
• Apply project management methodology to effectively manage numerous projects that cut across functional areas. This includes the implementation of change management practices to ensure that any changes are understood and project objectives achieved
• Evaluation
• Assess effectiveness of data analytics strategies/ tactics by measuring changes in stakeholder satisfaction, data quality, and reporting

Qualification

Relevant degree i.e. Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Engineering

Knowledge and experience

• In depth understanding and application of:
• Data analysis, data verification and data modelling
• Reporting tools
• Data visualisation methodologies
• Human Capital capability model (advantageous)
• Oracle (advantageous)
• Corporate and Investment banking domain knowledge (advantageous)

In depth experience of:

• Applying data science methods to business problems
• Programming languages eg. SQL, SAS, R, Python
