    Job description

    My client is a leading Hospitality Group with diverse locations globally and the role being based in the Caribbean Region. The suitable candidate will be a qualified CA (SA), 2 - 5 years post qualified experience. Experience within the construction and property sector is required.

    The core purpose of is exciting role is for the financial oversight of the Projects Dept. including the financial modelling of projects, the design and implementation of control and reporting measures, the review of contracts, and the safeguard of assets of the Group.

    A secondary role will be to assist in the analysis of development opportunities on an ad hoc basis, and to undertake select projects on behalf of the wider Finance dept., as requested by the Group CFO.

    The role will offer an attractive salary of circa R1m, p;lus housing and relocation.

    Role Discription

    • To be responsible for the effective functioning of the various financial aspects of the Projects Dept.;
    • To lead and guide the Projects finance team, including accounting & payables;
    • To review current practices, both procedural and reporting, and agree material changes thereto with the Group CFO, for purposes of introducing international best practice;
    • To introduce more efficient work practices that allow for the timely dissemination of pertinent information to management for decision making purposes. This will include, amongst others,:
    • Weekly & monthly operational updates,
    • Funding requests,
    • Monthly financial reports, and
    • Budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial modelling;
    • To ensure that the Projects dept. is compliant with funding institution loan agreement requirements;
    • To review and manage all aspects of project treasury & reporting, including reporting of costs vs budgets, and ensuring the payment of contractors subsequent to the receipt of funding;
    • To work with Group Procurement & Cost Control for purposes of reducing project costs, including best procurement practices and inventory management at the various project warehouses;
    • To review, and improve as necessary, all approval processes for the commitment to third party suppliers via both Group Procurement and/or HPI;
    • To liaise with internal audit regarding regular reviews and the subsequent implementation of appropriate procedures to safeguard company assets;
