Required outputs: Functional

• Conduct research and application of blasting software in practice.
• Develop of Software user acceptance and developer acceptance test documentation.
• Front line training of software use and application.
• Observe and ensure compliance with governance and established policies, systems, procedures and practices.
• Observe and ensure compliance with Safety. Health and Environment standards.
• Decides on the solution code design and development for blasting software.

Qualifications and expertise required (Must)

• University degree in Mining, Industrial / Chemical / Metallurgy / Rock Mechanics engineering.
• Diploma (mining, geological, civil, surveying etc.) plus extensive and deep field experience in explosives and mining (3-5 years plus).
• 3 -5 years relevant experience.
• Extensive exposure to a highly mathematical or software development environment will be an advantage.
• Expert ability to develop innovative blast designs.
• Able to analyse technical data and blast results for identification of market trends.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in various blasting technologies and its application.
• Assist with the development of Software solutions for the mining industry.
