Field Service Technician at Sandvik

The role

The purpose of this role is to instal data collection units (DCU’s) on Sandvik equipment, configure the DCU’s to collect and transmit data, identify solutions to setup system successfully, train customer representatives on the effective utilisation of the system and also conduct on-going system monitoring and troubleshooting of the system.

This service is rendered to Sandvik Mining clients (internal and external) on and off mine site, according to Sandvik Mining requirements and equipment specifications

Your profile

• Mechanical or electrical trade qualification
• At least 2 years’ experience working with Underground Mining equipment,
• Proven experience in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology (EPEC Systems)
• Mechanical, electrical or electronic equipment maintenance competence in at least 2 of the following areas:
• Basic 5 module LHD’s or Trucks with EPEC control systems
• Basic electronic systems
• Basic LV electric systems
• Mechanical equipment
• Hydraulic systems
• Video display systems
• Advanced electrical systems (low current relays, electronic timers, electrical/electronic overloads and protection devices, solenoids, actuators, proximity devices etc.)
• Experience in CANbus systems will be an advantage
• English proficiency
• Valid drivers licence
• Full physical & medical certificate to work in mining environment.
