    Logistics Operations Manager

    Job description

    • The management of daily Raw Material stores and Bulk stores, incoming of Raw materials and issuing of stock between warehouses in adherence with COSO. (Monthly usage of approx. R70MM).
    • Effective utilization of labour hours to maximize stock movements and minimize breakage and waste through FIFO.
    • Ensure All food safety requirements are met through FLM's closing of NCR's
    • Ensure that development and training needs of FLEs and direct reports are fulfilled.
    • Ensure all cycle counts are conducted as per PepsiCo's Audit policies for all warehouses related.
    • Apply great decision making resulting in the ability to keep uptime on the RMS and Bulk stores by working with suppliers; and also using Quality Lab testing incoming results whether to accept or reject Raw Materials
    • Analysis:
    • Ensure that all BOM's in SAP are up to standard and current, liaise with costing department on any anomalies.
    • Drive functional budget, forecasting and Actual reporting of Direct costs
    • Ensuring correctness/accuracy of financial data and costing
    • Prepare a daily and weekly performance report and feedback performance-related issues to the site leadership team.
    • Analyse the weekly direct cost variances and communicate to respective Operations managers and Site leadership team.
    • Manage product discontinuation in an effort to minimise financial impact to business.
    • Improve plant audit performance and work environment
    • Report all plant's KPI's at month end and to Sector. (Global Metrics)* Support preparation of business cases (Capex)
    • Determine manufacturing needs of Potato supply ordering.
    • Determine manufacturing needs of Corn; Nitrogen; Cornmeal; Oil
    • Balance the need to maximise manufacturing efficiencies whilst managing SSABU stock targets and minimising obsolescence.
    • Manage the dynamic deployment of stock to meet Production needs on a daily basis.
    • Frequent contact with Planning Team, Ops managers and FLM's to ensure successful execution of product replenishment to meet production demand.
    • Contact with Planning Team regarding decisions on sales forecasting and Supply Chain Improvement in order to ensure stock availability.
    • Identify cost saving opportunities for implementation across the entire Supply Chain taking into account total cost.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree (Supply Chain, Finance)
    • Preferable : Postgraduate qualification
    • At least 5 years Finance and Logistics experience
