    Maintenance Controller

    Job description

    Job Purpose:

    Co- ordinate, coach, and control the activities of the level one maintenance teams in the production environment and to provide specialist technical advice to ensure optimum equipment performance.

    Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

    • Implement and maintain company safety standards and enforce positive safety behaviours in the team.
    • Manage and lead a team of technicians to deliver quality maintenance service, driving accountability and culture of ownership.
    • Plan and schedule maintenance work using SAP system in line with the production plan.
    • Use appropriate tools to perform problem solving for preventing repeat equipment failures.
    • Carry out Loss and Waste analysis to establish focus areas to improve plant performance.
    • Ensure cost-effectiveness while carrying out maintenance activities.
    • Provide input to the Opex and Capex budgets; and review maintenance costs routinely and bring costs under control.

    Qualifications:

    • Qualified Millwright (N6) or Electrical Technician (N6)
    • Maintenance Diploma
    • B Tech (electrical/mechanical) will be an added advantage
    • At least 3-5 Years maintenance experience with 3 years in a Supervisory role in a Manufacturing environment,preferably FMCG.
    • Knowledge of Malting plant will be an advantage
    • PC literate (Proficiency in Microsoft office applications)
