VP/Investment Analyst at Franklin Templeton Investments

Job description

The Templeton Emerging Markets Team is one of the pioneers of emerging market investing. Established in 1987 the team has over 20 years of experience and manages assets for retail, institutional and professional investors across the globe.

This role is to be based in Cape Town and covering South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent research on, and fundamental analysis of, public-listed companies.
• Develop detailed financial models on covered companies.
• Analyze and interpret economic developments, trends in key sectors, and political developments.
• Maintain a general knowledge of the global investment climate, market conditions and economic environment.
• Provide written and oral presentations of investment recommendations to the investment team, and keeping the team updated on a regular basis of any changes to the recommendations or forecasts.

Ideal Candidates Will Have

• At least 7 years of relevant work experience as investment analyst
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree. MBA or/and CFA professional qualification is preferred but not required.
• Interested in being an analyst as a long-term career
• Fluent in both written and spoken English.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet analysis and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Self-motivated, multi-tasking individual with good organization, detail-oriented and adaptable to change.
• Willingness to travel as necessary.
