    Digital Marketing Specialist

    Our client is seeking a talented digital marketing specialist who will be responsible for implementing the company’s digital marketing strategy and online presence. This individual will work alongside the content manager and business development managers in implementing a range of global digital tactics, including website content entry and maintenance, data analysis, email marketing, social media support and content marketing strategy. The successful candidate will report to the chief business development and marketing officer.

    What you will do:

    • Communication:
      • Acts as the primary contact for South African digital requests.
      • Liaise with global digital team on global strategy.
      • Brand ambassador.
      • Implement and maintain strict adherence to company brand identity and tone throughout internal and external communication.
      • Implement digital assets produced for South Africa and ensure that they are following the brand guidelines.
      • Communicate with the London team with regards to workloads and holidays cover.
      • Comply with and promote company strategy.
      • Complement the group wide strategy by assisting to identify and investigate new technology trends where requested.
    • Campaign management:
      • Liaise with internal stakeholders in terms of the performance of online initiatives and actions required.
      • Regularly speak to the team to identify ideas for content.
      • Prepare all assets to be used for promotion for review and get project team to approve them.
      • Produce tweets for social media campaigns - to be reviewed by global digital lead, London Editorial team and Requestors.
      • Maintain brand identity on all assets - use of imagery, tone of voice.
      • Campaign reporting.
    • Website:
      • Liaise with the SA marketing and BD team (and other relevant stakeholders where directed) to promote content going on the South Africa and Tanzania homepages - make sure that content is relevant for the target audience.
      • Check the content that is been posted on Social Media.
      • Discuss options of promotion with the requestors: homepage hero, sector carousel, featured items (services, CVs), Social media, Email marketing.
      • Regularly update hero carousel items, check that the different hero images on the homepage are visually well balanced.
      • Create new service pages within Rhythmyx.
      • Get text approved by editorial team in London and South Africa.
      • Select related contacts.
      • Create and maintain team lists.
      • Create and Expire online CVs of joiners and leavers.
      • Add list of sector and services to fee earners CVs.
      • Promote CV guidelines internally and add new CV text.
      • Create new publications.
      • Link to contacts, sector and services pages and relevant jurisdictions.
      • Promote on homepage if applicable.
      • Create news pages & press releases online.
      • Advise on best practice for SEO.
      • Ensure that content drafted by the team or copyrighter includes keywords.
      • Monitor increase and decrease in traffic to new service pages.
    • Blogs:
      • Provide technical support to the editorial team.
      • Promote the blog and blog posts: homepages, social media.
      • Monthly reporting to blog editors on statistics for emails and articles.
    • Social media:
      • Provide training on social media - guidelines, best practice & how to use social media for BD.
      • Provide team with one-on-one training to Fee earners on request.
      • Post all new African publications, press releases, events on respective social media accounts.
    • Websites and blogs:
      • Produce monthly analytics reports for all the Africa sites.
    • Intranet:
      • Promote the use of the firm’s internal intranet (Athena) in South Africa.
      • Keep SA marketing and BD pages up to date.
    • Videos:
      • Create videos on request using Kulu Kit.
    • Adhoc projects:
      • Be involved in new digital projects as needed.

    The qualifications you will need:

    Qualification:

    Graduate with demonstrable and/or professionally recognised marketing qualification (such as CIM etc) or equivalent

    Experience:

    • 4 years’ digital marketing, web or social media experience, preferably in a business-to-business or professional services organization.
    • Solid working knowledge of web content management and HTML: Need a high level of proficiency in entering web content and finessing/troubleshooting HTML issues. Previous experience in enterprise-level content management systems a plus.
    • Solid working knowledge of the Adobe creative suite of programs, including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Premier Pro.
    • Solid knowledge of social media platforms: Relevant experience would include LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube. In addition, experience with broader spectrum of marketing channels a plus (e.g., print, direct mail, web, events, etc.).
    • Hands-on experience in analysing digital marketing programs and creating reports for senior management: Relevant social media tools include Hootsuite, LinkedIn Sponsored Updates/Elevate, Meltwater/Meltwater Buzz, Sprout Social, Facebook Insights and Google Analytics.
    • Professional experience leveraging SEO/SEM skills: Experience enriching content with SEO, keyword research/analysis, competitive analysis and content optimization is ideal.
    • Other technical skills: Must have strong PowerPoint skills with proficiency in other Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel and Word.
