Job description

We are looking for a writer who can think visually, creatively and logically, as well as has a knack or interest in more technical aspects as we often deal with, and have to make sense of, real-life incidents and reports before we can simplify them. This position also requires a lot of collaborating with our in-house animation, graphic design and illustration departments to create and show our work in the best way possible that’s easy to understand for anyone who uses it.

Requirements:

• An excellent command of the English language
• At least 3-5 years’ experience in a writing field
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to simplify and reduce text
• Excellent proofing/copy-editing skills
• Ability to conceptualise/visualise often complicated or technical information such as incident reports, code of practices, etc.
• Good research skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to review and give direction on various mediums that include print, digital, animation, etc.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Deadline driven and able to switch between multiple projects during the day
• Team player with good communication skills

Advantageous:

• HSE knowledge
• Knowledge of mining/construction/oil and gas environments
• Multi-lingual (African/European/Asian languages)
