Matric/Grade12 certificate or equivalent. A Basic qualification accredited with the South Africa Nursing Council in terms of Government Notice R.425 (i.e. diploma/degree) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse and Psychiatric Nursing.
Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Nursing Education. A Post Basic or Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Care (R.48).
Master's degree in nursing/public health. Assessor and Moderator registered with SANC. Proof of current registration with SANC.
A minimum of 9 years’ appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC.
A minimum of five (5) years of recognizable experience in Nursing Education after obtaining a post-basic qualification in Nursing Education, of which two (2) years of the period referred to above must be in the appropriate speciality.
Computer literacy. Valid driver's license. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of planning, organizing, evaluating, leading, and controlling operational activities. Sound communication skills, with proven ability in supervision, report writing, and professional presentations.
Knowledge of procedures and processes for Postgraduate Diploma programmes, relevant legislation, the Code of Ethics, and SANC professional practice requirements. Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
Duties :
Coordinate and manage the provision of education and training for Postgraduate Diploma in Primary Care Nursing students as well as any other allocated Postgraduate Programmes offered at the Campus.
Manage clinical learning exposure to learners between the campus and clinical areas. Develop and ensure implementation of quality assurance programmes.
Supervise the curriculum development of the Postgraduate Diploma in Occupational Health Nursing. Management of theory and clinical (WIL) components of all other allocated programmes.
Orientate, supervise, and conduct the Performance Management and Development System (PMDS) of all lecturers under your supervision. Supervise the marking and moderation of the theoretical and practical assessments of programmes. Provide academic support to students. Participate in curriculum review of academic programmes.
Engage in research and community engagement. Collaborate with other stakeholders and build a sound relationship within the Department. Participate in the overall management of the College and actively contribute to GCON and Campus committee activities.
