Accountant -Bellville at Salt South Africa

Overview:

• Our client is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accountant to join their Head Office finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a varied accounting position, with exposure to branch accounting, inventory management and financial reporting.
• You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring tax compliance and supporting the day-to-day financial operations across the business.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage bookkeeping through to Trial Balance.
• Prepare management accounts and branch financial reports.
• Perform cash flow management and bank reconciliations.
• Oversee debtors, creditors and payment processing.
• Manage inventory accounting, stock takes and multi-warehouse reporting.
• Prepare and submit VAT, Income Tax and Provisional Tax returns.
• Perform VAT reconciliations and group loan interest calculations.
• Support new branch set-ups and assist with ad hoc finance projects.

Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification accounting experience.
• Experience with IQ Retail and/or Sage Evolution.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and tax compliance.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Willingness to travel locally when required.
