About the Role

• We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team in the East Region. This role will focus on managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. You will play a vital role in maintaining financial health and providing insights that support strategic decision-making for the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
• Conduct monthly financial analyses to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting policies, standards, and statutory regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insights on variances.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions and ensure timely payments.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information needed for decision-making.
• Support the annual audit process by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Monitor cash flow and assist in managing financial risks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Demonstrable experience in a similar accounting role, with a solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Proven track record in managing financial documentation and ensuring accuracy.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional accounting designation (e.g., CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent).
• Experience in financial analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with taxation regulations and compliance in South Africa.
• Knowledge of industry-specific software tools.
