Accountant - JHB at Abbott

THE OPPORTUNITY

This position works out of our Roodepoort Offices, Abbott Place in the Abbott Molecular division. Abbott Molecular is a leader in molecular diagnostics and the analysis of DNA, RNA, and proteins at the molecular level.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Inventory accounting (inbound, outbound and PPV)
• Billing accounting (review)
• Vendor management (POs, accruals)
• Month end close activities: revenue recognition and accrual accounting.
• Month end close activities: review of sales, P/L and inventory reports.
• Analytical review for P/L and B/S

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting. Qualified Accountant is a plus.
• 2-3 Years accountant experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience in a distribution or manufacturing company is advantageous
• Proficient Excel knowledge
• Advance knowledge to process large datasets.
• Previous experience in working in financial modules of a widely used ERP system.
• Strong accounting and analytical skills
• Adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently.
• Good communications skills both verbal and written.
