Accountant

• We are currently recruiting for a Accountant for a Financial Services company that would be based in Umhlanga, Durban. The successful candidate should come with at least 3+ years’ experience within a Tax Consultant role.

Minimum Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience in an accounting environment.
• Beneficial: Accounting Degree/ Higher Diploma.
• Completed articles.
• Affiliations to SAICA/SAIPA/ACCA/CIMA /SAIBA are preferred.
• Beneficial: Exposure working on Caseware.
• Beneficial: Exposure working on Pastel Partner.
• Knowledge and experience with e-filling.
• Vehicle and valid Driver’s License: Will be required to travel to clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage full accounting and tax function of client portfolio.
• Drafting of annual financial statements for companies, trusts, and sole proprietors on Caseware.
• Filing of notices of objections and suspension of debt on e-filing.
• VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies, and trusts.
• Provide advice on all tax and accounting matters.
• Prepare and submit:   -Income tax returns for individuals and companies.

Provisional tax returns for individuals and companies.
VAT returns for sole proprietors, companies, and trusts.

• Competent to attend to all SARS correspondence.
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
