•  A leading player in the agricultural industry, specialising in the production and distribution of high-quality fresh produce, is looking for an Accountant to join their team in Paarl, Western Cape. 
• The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and driven individual who feels at home in an agricultural setting. This is an ideal role for a candidate looking to take that first step into Cost and Management Accounting, from either practice or commerce.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations..
• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Process general ledger entries and prepare GL recons.
• Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register.
• Support with budget preparation and variance analysis.
• Oversee cost tracking for farming and production operations.
• Liaise with suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders regarding financial queries.
• Support stock control processes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance with 1 year of minimum experience in a commercial set-up, or just completed articles.
• Experience working in the farming/agricultural or similar industry is beneficial, or at least a strong interest therein.
• Exceptionally detail-oriented with a strong, ingrained work ethic.
• You will be personable, outgoing, and eager to learn.
