    Actuarial Analyst Internship

    Position Overview
    Develop, manage, and implement strategies to improve underwriting results in the Collection and Claims environment withinBidvest Insurance. Understand trends within the data sets and develop strategies to mitigate risk and improve profitability. Evaluate different insurance policies to determine the associated risks involved for both the insurance company and the policyholder. Then make changes to policies, gather data on lapsed coverage, cancel policies, and verify records' accuracy

    Key Responsibilities and Duties

    •  Data collation, extraction, verification actuarial models as well as reconciling data to check accuracy.
    •  Analyse data and calculate the cost probabilities using statistical models.
    •  Assist in optimisation the collection strategy, including churn analysis and forecasting.
    •  Assist with monitor and report on the performance of existing insurance products.
    •  Provide monitoring insight and reporting.
    •  Increase customer lifetime value strategy.

    Qualifications

    •  Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or any relevant qualification
    •  Certified copy of your ID.
    •  Certified copy of Academic Transcript.
    •  Must be an SA Citizen between the ages of 18-35 years old.
    •  Your CV and motivational letter.
    •  Must have not previously done an internship prior (SETA/ Government)

    •  Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
    •  Detail-oriented and highly organized
    •  Proficiency in statistical software and actuarial modelling tools
    •  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    •  Interpersonal skills
    •  Desire and potential to learn.
    •  Self-Motivated
    •  Advanced Computer skills
    •  Prioritize tasks as needed.
