Actuarial Analyst at Old Mutual

• Develop, maintain and control pricing structures ensuring that key underwriting / financial metrics are achieved.
• Monitor trends and advise business accordingly .
• Involvement and understanding of different clients and their businesses.
• Develop business cases for new business ventures.
• Apply the control cycle for all actuarial work: collect & analyse, build models, implement, monitor, refine.
• Developing solutions for business challenges and initiatives.
• Develop strong working relationships with various stakeholders within Old Mutual Insure.

Job Requirements

• At least 6 actuarial exams
• At least 2 years’ actuarial experience. Experience in short-term insurance, Emblem, VBA and/or SAS would be an advantage.
• Excellent knowledge of data manipulation and statistical techniques.
• Strong problem-solving and technical skills and good communication skills.
• Highly motivated self-starter who is good at working independently but is also comfortable interacting with stakeholders.
• You need to have an interest in learning new things and exploiting alternative ways of completing tasks
