Actuarial Graduate Trainee - Johannesburg at Munich Re

Your Programme:

Reporting into the Team Leaders or Managers of the various departments, as a Graduate at Munich Re of Africa, you will:

• Take part in soft skills and technical training.
• Conduct daily department specific tasks.
• Participate in team specific tasks and deliverables.
• Participate in cross-divisional project teams.
• Participate in team and business projects.

Exposure may include (department dependent):

• Transform client data into a useable format for analysis.
• Obtain rates from pricing bases given a set of assumptions.
• Calculation of group risk quotes, for all benefits, using the tools provided.
• Understand the modelling and pricing of reinsurance and insurance products.
• Risk identification, assessing these and documentation thereof.
• Data checking and creating movement analysis.
• Review, reporting and calculations of reserves.
• Use and running models.
• Reviewing, compiling and/or providing content to actuarial/risk reports.

Your profile:

• Final year Actuarial Science student or recent Actuarial Science graduate
• Good academic record
• Good coding/programming skills
• Working knowledge of statistical and mathematical methods and analysis
