Adhesive Binding Operator at Novus Holdings Ltd

Job Description

• Novus Print : Montague Gardens is currently seeking to permanently appoint a competent individual with knowledge and experience in an FMCG printing environment to take on the role of an Adhesive Binding Operator in the Bindery deparment .The successful candidate will report to the Shift Leader : Bindery . 

Key Duties and Responsibilities    

• Set up, operate and adjust the Kolbus KM200 perfect binder.
• Perform spine preparation, gluing, cover application and trimming
• Monitor glue application and ensure consistent binding quality
• Meet specific job specifications and quality standards
• Ensure that quality control checklists are completed and kept up to date
• Monitor and ensure safety devices are functional at all times
• Setup machine and run job according to the work ticket
• Follow all relevant SOP’s and complete all checklists
• Production and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective production and distribution of goods
• Managing a team
• Maintain general health and safety standards in the production environment
• Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained

Educational Requirements    

• Grade 12
• Mechanised bookbinder or relevant trade certification 
• 3-5 Years Mechanised bookbinding experience

Experience Requirements    

• Proven experience operating a perfect binding/adhesive binding machine, preferably Kolbus equipment
• Knowledge of hot-melt adhesive systems and spine preparation
• Willingness to work shifts
