    Administrative Assistant

    Role Title: Administrative Assistant (6-month contract)

    Division: Broker and Alternate Distribution

    Location: Braamfontein, Johannesburg

    Closing date: 12 June 2020

     

    Key responsibilities

    • The main function is to handle and coordinate all the Division's administrative and support requirements
    • Manage all divisional adhoc projects and prioritize and complete daily deliverable
    • Be the customer touchpoint for and manage all stake-holders engagements (internal and external)- for the division
    • Support the Divisional Head and assist with managing departmental presentations as required.

     

    Qualifications

    • Relevant tertiary-level qualification

     

    Experience

    • Minimum of 4-5 years in a similar role/environment
    • Financial services sector experience -ideally in the long-term insurance sector having worked in a Broker division.
    • Some level of understanding of project management and/or experience in having worked on projects
    • Having supported Senior Management and engaged with colleagues at that level.

     

    Job Related Skills/Knowledge

    • Pro-active, resourceful, exhibit high standards and have an ability to take initiative
    • Ability to work independently without constant supervision
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Ability to pull together and synthesize information from various sources.
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and be well versed in the use Microsoft Office 365 and other pertinent technology utilized for working-at-home
    • Excellent interpersonal skills (negotiation, conflict-handling and influencing skills).
    • Ability to handle pressure and be comfortable in working in highly pressured environment.
    • A strong ability to take charge and meet tight deadlines
    • Basic knowledge and understanding of the insurance sector and have basic market insights
