    Advisory Specialist Wealth

    Job Description

    Advisory Services:

    • Providing advisory/fiduciary services to ultra high net worth clients in collaboration with Wealth Bankers/Wealth Investment Managers on financial planning matters that fall within the ambit of the Financial Planning environment, with specific reference to Estate, Retirement and Insurance (business and personal) Planning and structuring.
    • Assist in drafting Estate Planning, Business Assurance proposals, insurance quotes, trust audits, will review documents, etc.;
    • Giving effect to the estate planning solutions identified in the proposals, either personally or by way of referral to external provider;
    • Providing advice and/or drafting of Wills and Trusts: alternatively to ensure that Wills and Trusts drafted by ABSA Trust are according to the client’s needs and instructions given to Absa Trust;
    • Support technical interpretation and usage of wealth planning and structuring vehicles.
    • Consulting directly with clients and related Bankers/Investment Managers/International investment advisors;
    • As part of a national multi-disciplined Centre of Excellence, to assist other specialists with experience and knowledge, as well as peer-reviewing any written advice to clients;

    Accountability: Stakeholder Management:

    • Actively promote and manage the collaborative engagement of internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, suppliers, clients, service providers, business partners and other Absa entities;
    • Effectively communicate developments within areas of activity to all relevant stakeholders;
    • Ensure impeccable and timeous service levels;
    • Liaise with Legal and Compliance divisions to ensure alignment within the areas of technical. legal and compliance matters;
    • Provide expert inputs as required in strategic projects / initiatives, forming a key part of the wealth planning and intellectual capital within the business;
    • To liaise with international partners or external service providers in providing their offshore offering to High Net-Worth Clients.

    Revenue Generation: Manage the commercial profitability of the regional Advisory practice to ensure accomplishment of set revenue targets, achieved by way of:

    • Provision of advice (Trusts, Wills, estate administration, estate planning, business succession planning, impact of marital regime on estate, consideration of taxation, etc.);
    • Implementation of identified solutions, example: Trust formation, insurance, Will amendment, etc.

    Scorecard Objectives:

    • Revenue target (Achieve region's Advisory budget)
    • Support net investment AUA
    • Collaboration and referral of clients to Wealth Manager/Wealth Banker/international investment advisor,
    • Wills: New and reviewed (Achieve region's budget by way of drafting, filing and reviewing Wills)
    • Completion of living wealth plans (estate plans)
    • Thought leadership articles
    • Multi-generation succession planning
    • CPD and compliance objectives

    Accountability: Compliance

    • Adhere to ABSA compliance requirements and industry related legislations in order to maintain a high standard of service.
    • Adhere to business processes and controls practice; non-adherence may lead to disciplinary actions.
    • Complete all compulsory compliance and legislation training within the required time frames as prescribed by Absa.
    • Perform all other duties as reasonably assigned articles for colleagues and advisors.

    Accountability: Customer Service

    • Deal (telephonically, electronically, face to face) with clients, both internally and externally on a professional basis to ensure that an exceptional standard of service is rendered.
    • Drive a professional client services culture in the Absa suite/branch by managing turn around times, effectively resolving customer queries;

    Generally, to provide sophisticated and specialised estate planning advice to ultra high net worth clients:

    • In respect of all fiduciary matters, including but not limited to: Trusts, Wills, estates, insurance, taxation in so far as it relates to estate planning and structuring;
    • Ability to support the broader team in revenue generation and the acquisition and retention of ultra high-net worth clients via the Fiduciary process;
    • Ability to leverage strong research skills;
    • Knowledge and experience in offshore planning.

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree: LLB
    • Post graduate diploma in financial planning - CFP designation
    • Post graduate qualification in taxation is advantageous
    • Memberships: FPI, FISA, STEP are advantageous

    • Bachelors Degree and Professional Qualifications: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
