Agile IT Project Manager at DAV Professional Placement Group

We are looking for a self-motivated, independent, detailed and pragmatic go-getter with the ability to manage various teams of people contributing to the ongoing development of existing as well as new systems. Excellent communication skills are a must, both verbally and written. Previous experience in managing software product development in an Agile/Scrum environment is a must.

The role’s objective is to manage the various stakeholders and contracted parties to deliver the technical elements of web-based applications. The successful candidate must be willing to adapt and grow with the business as well as ‘roll up their sleeves’ and get involved in all aspects of the day to day business function.
Qualifications

• Matric and relevant tertiary qualification required
• IT or Computer Science Degree/Diploma preferred
• Agile/Scrum certification required

Experience

Required:

• 2 to 5 years of role-relevant experience
• Agile/Scrum software development methodology
• Exposure across full software development life cycle
• Advantageous:
• Business analysis
• Software development

Key responsibilities

• Organise and execute the scrum process and metrics: Scrum Ceremonies (i.e. daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, planning sessions) and scrum metrics (burn-down charts, predictable velocity)
• Assist the product owner in prioritisation and scheduling of work, to meet agreed delivery time frames.
• Make sure that all the team members understand their roles and fulfil them to the best of their ability.
• Identify and facilitate the resolution of identified impediments
• Full product lifecycle overview from requirements gathering through to testing and delivery to the end user
• Project troubleshooting and second line support assistance
