• Montego Pet Nutrition is looking for an AI Transformation Manager to help drive our organisation from scattered experimentation and “have-you-tried-ChatGPT?” conversations to structured, governed, measurable AI adoption that actually improves how work gets done.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Developing Montego’s AI Strategy

You’ll help define where AI fits into the business — and more importantly, where it actually adds value.

You’ll:

• Develop and evolve Montego’s AI Adoption & Transformation Strategy
• Identify practical AI use cases across Finance, HR, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, and IT
• Translate operational frustrations into AI-enabled workflows and measurable productivity gains
• Stay current on AI platform developments and assess their relevance to our environment
• Produce quarterly adoption, value, and ROI reporting

Leading AI Tool Deployment & Governance

We believe AI should move quickly and responsibly.

You’ll:

• Manage Montego’s approved AI ecosystem (currently Claude Enterprise and Microsoft Copilot)
• Develop and maintain AI usage policies and governance standards
• Define approved, permitted, and prohibited AI tools
• Partner with IT to ensure secure, auditable, POPIA-aligned deployments
• Manage licensing, usage tracking, spend optimisation, and access governance
• Identify and address “Shadow AI” usage before it becomes a security incident disguised as productivity

Driving AI Capability Building & Training

AI adoption only works when people understand how to use it well.

You’ll:

• Design and deliver practical, hands-on AI training programmes
• Build and lead a Champions Cohort of AI power users across departments
• Develop role-specific AI playbooks and workflow examples
• Train staff on prompting, hallucination awareness, data safety, and responsible usage
• Create onboarding AI awareness modules for all new employees

Establishing Governance, Risk & Ethical AI Practices

You’ll help ensure Montego’s AI journey remains responsible, compliant, and sustainable.

You’ll:

• Develop the company’s AI Governance & Ethics Framework
• Conduct periodic AI risk and compliance assessments
• Partner with IT, HR, Legal, and Compliance teams
• Build role-based AI guidance tailored to different functions and risk levels
• Maintain audit trails, access controls, and governance documentation

Measuring ROI & Optimising Adoption

You’ll:

• Track meaningful adoption and productivity metrics
• Build dashboards showing usage, spend, and impact trends
• Quantify workflow improvements and operational efficiencies
• Develop business cases using real productivity evidence
• Share practical success stories that help the business see AI value in action

Leading Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement

This role is as much about people as it is about technology.

You’ll:

• Own AI rollout communication and adoption strategies
• Facilitate launch events, workshops, Lunch-and-Learns, and executive briefings
• Support cautious or resistant users with empathy and practical guidance
• Build excitement without overselling capabilities
• Represent the AI function on Montego’s Digital & Data Council

Requirements

What You’ll Need

Must Haves:

• Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Change Management, or related field (NQF 7)
• 3–5 years’ experience in:
• AI enablement
• digital transformation
• technology adoption
• organisational change management
• Experience deploying AI tools across non-technical user groups
• Experience designing practical training programmes
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability
• Experience developing governance frameworks, policies, and usage standards
• Strong data literacy and comfort working with usage metrics and KPI reporting

Bonus Points For

• Master’s Degree in AI Strategy, Technology Management, or Data Science
• Experience within FMCG, manufacturing, agribusiness, or operational environments

Familiarity with:
