AIMS Analyst at South African Airways Technical (SAAT)

Job Purpose    

• To produce software used to retrieve, decode, analyze aircraft data and to monitor systesm performance in ordr to achieve optimum aircraft safety and reliabilit, providing quality and timeous data to customers.

Principal Accountabilities    

• Investigate, plan, and prioritize production of software for Flight Data Recorder Sytems to meet customer requirements for aircraft performance analysis. 
• Design and develop software in ordder to retrieve, decode and analyse aircraft data
• On the job training for staff development
• Adhere to On0Time-Performance and Quality targets with regards to software developmnet and systems monitoring for the customer
• Monitor system performance (both ground station and aircraft) and initiate corrective action 
• Feedback to Senior Specialist on technical discrepancies and daily activities 
• Recommend workshop processes to improve cost control and waste management
• Compile reports for SAA and 3rd party customers regarding aircraft parameter and recording system status as per Regulatory Authority requirements
• Keep abreast with new technology and development to meet customer fleet change requirements
• Provide on job support, and data analysis service as per customer requests at thier facilities
• Assit various authorities in accident/incident investigation and data analysis
• Perform maintenance on transcription equipment - download flight data off aircraft 

Qualifications & Experience    

• Grade 12 or equivalent with Mathematics (as a subject)
• Passed an applicable Aviation Trade Test - with 3 years experience

OR

• Completed and AIMS Learnership - with 3 years experience
• Tertiary Education of atleast N6 or T3
• Passed the HRSC Computer Programmers Aptitude Test - essential
• High level of Computer Literacy - (MS Office Package, Visual Basic, Fortran)
• Valid Code B Drivers Licence
