Air Conditioning Technician - Midrand at Empact Group

Minimum Qualifications:

• Grade 12
• OTTC, ACRA or N-Stream Qualification.
• Aircon Trade Test
• Safe handling of refrigerants (SAQCC Certificate)
• Valid Driver’s license
• Electrical and controls would be an advantage
• Safety training

Minimum Experience / Skills and Competency Required:

• 3 years’ experience in HVAC & R systems
• Installation of HVAC & R systems
• Repairs of HVAC & R Systems.
• Including, chilled water systems, cooling towers, pumps, split units, cold rooms, freezer rooms and VRF/VRV.
• Must have experience in computer / server room cooling, packaged units, air handling units, multistage evaporative cooling, and ventilation systems. 
• Must be willing to travel and work long hours when necessary
• Maintenance of HVAC & R systems

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintenance, installation, and repairs
• Maintaining and repairing the heating systems
• Installation and maintenance of ventilators
• Installation, repairing and maintenance of air conditioners
• Installation, repairing and maintenance of refrigerators
• Identifying defects in components, wiring, and finding solutions to solve these defects
• Testing electrical circuits for continuity
• Inspecting various electrical systems used for heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration
• assembling required equipment to repair
• Complying with all the appliance regulations and standards
• Assist with identifying and locating local HVAC & R manufacturers for skills transfer and repair assistance where needed
• Conduct regular inspections on the HVAC & R equipment to identify possible malfunctions
•  Ensuring that all safety processes and procedures are followed
• Ensuring that all systems are compliant as per plans and specifications
• Conduct job inspections and observations on subcontractors
• Check the job quality and advice on value for money
