Analyst - Collateral Operations at Absa South Africa

Job Summary

• CIB Post trade services team is currently looking for a Junior Specialist: Operations & Administration.  The ideal candidate will provide  specialist advice and support related to operations administration services, in order to achieve predefined goals, through the execution of predefined objectives per business agreements. 

Education and Experience Required

• B Com or relevant commerce degree 
• Minimum 3 years exposure to Collateral and client valuations
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Excel Intermediate Level required

Job Description

• Ensure that all client valuations are successfully issued on a daily and monthly basis
• Monitor automated client valuation exception queue
• Assist with the automation of existing manual client valuations 
• Handing of daily, weekly, monthly issuing and responding to margin calls for South Africa and ARO clients,
• Compiling and distributing of end of day reports to various stakeholders
• Investigate mark to market difference between Absa and Collateral clients on daily basis via the tri-optima recon system
• Investigate and clear all cash breaks
• Creating new client agreements on the Collateral system as and when new agreements are signed
• Assist with daily non cash recons
• Assist with various monthly recons between different systems
• Ensure all queries are responded to timeously
• Ensure the procedure manual is updated with changes regularly
• Ensure all Items at Risk or aged items are escalated to Senior Management for resolution
• Build a good working relationship with Front Office, Sales, TCU & Client Static

Education

• Higher Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
