About the Job

The Role

• We are looking for a passionate Full stack developer to join our Automation team. Our responsibility is to maintain the rules engine to ensure that each transaction is processed timeously and consistent with all relevant requirements.
• You will be helping by finding new and creative ways of using technology to help grow our clients businesses. Along with creating and maintaining the rules engine and related software services, you will be part of a dynamic and diverse team who loves collaborating, knowledge sharing and challenges the status quo.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor Degree, preferred in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems qualification advantageous
• Knowledge of / experience within the financial services industry (preferably investment banking) advantageous
• 5+ years of working in a technical role and/or as a developer

• Front-end: Angular V10-13, ReactJS, HTML, CSS
• Backend: C#, C++, NodesJS, .NET Core
• Databases: MongoDB, Microsoft SQL 2016/2019, Oracle
• Dev Tools: Visual Studio 2017, Jenkins, Azure DevOps
• Other: JSON, JQuery, JavaScript, Redis, Google Analytics, Git, UX experience, Docker, IIS & IISNode, Integration technologies / distributed applications

Key Accountabilities

• Develop features within our applications, including collaborating on requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, testing and shipping modern APIs
• Investigate, analysis and make recommendations to the team regarding technology improvements, upgrades and modifications
• Provide first hand analysis and investigation for production environment concerns
• Work directly with our Dev Manager, Product Owners, Project Managers and the rest in a fun development team
• Implement current best practice and agreed standards
• Ensure that the release and defect management process and policies are followed
• Comply with the Enterprise Architecture principles and standards
• Appreciation for software craftsmanship, quality, security, maintainability and performance
• Contribute in all phases of the SDLC
• Write well designed, testable and efficient code

Daily Operations

• Assist with production support where necessary and ensure log management process is followed
• Ensure incidents are dealt with effectively, efficiently, and according to the policy and procedures
• Ensure that deliverables are in line with business needs
• Strive toward a zero defect count in deliverables and eliminate re-work
• Ensure communication to stakeholders and team members is clear and professional
• Continuously improve your knowledge by growing and developing yourself
• Provide mentoring and guidance to more junior members of the team

Requirements:

• Experience of Test-Driven Development, Behaviour Driven Development and Agile methodology.

• Code Analysis & Metrics. Working within a team where code quality and team code reviews is paramount
• Ability to demonstrate the FNZ values in an on-going and consistent way

• Develop and maintain RESTful API's in either C#, .NET Core or NodeJS

• Translate requirements from product owners and analysts into technical deliverables for the development team
• Strong technical skills and often develops the architecturally significant components of the software system and/or interfaces
• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance
• Review code developed by other team members and provide guidance to more junior members of the team
• Prepare and produce releases of software components
• Drive continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies, presenting these for architectural review, and ensuring the team is aligned with the latest technology available
• Strong service-orientated design focus on robust, compelling user experience, and client satisfaction
• Provide first hand analysis, investigation and support for production environment concerns
• Take ownership of projects assigned and liaise with the development team and respective manager and team leader
• Ability to work comfortably from home
• Obsessive automation of the build pipeline with Azure DevOps
• Ability to draw easy to understand architecture diagrams
• Exposure working on one or many major public cloud platform (Azure, AWS, Google)
• Object oriented analysis and design using common design patterns.
• Proficiency in applying patterns in the design of solutions
• Exposure and understanding the concept of containerization and Docker
• Ability to use integration technologies / distributed applications (Web services, WCF, ESB)
