Analyst: Economic Development Reporting (12 Month Contract)
We're seeking an Reporting Analyst with Economic Development Reporting and Implementation knowledge, with SAP experience, for a Reporting Analyst role, on a 12-month fixed term contract, to be based in Sandton. The successful incumbent would be a qualified CA(SA).
Reporting to the Head of department, the successful applicant will be responsible for the activities of Planning and Control including Economic Development Reporting. Apart from the timely and accurate fulfilment of all Economic Development Reporting Obligations on a timely manner, the Economic Development Reporting Department is also expected to contribute to the activities of the Planning and Control Department, mainly for the budgeting process and control process.
The incumbent is also responsible for the reporting of the RSA business and all 12 SPV entities.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Review monthly, quarterly and bi-annual Economic Development reporting to the Department of Energy
- Review that all documentation linked to the data is correctly collated and that all reporting required for project is done accurately and in time.
- Ensure that the team are saving the information in order to allow for effective audit process.
- Review the Monthly Revenue invoices from Commercial Unit to calculate committed spend for SED and ED
- Review that the 12 Entities Economic Development Obligations (EDO) are compiled in accordance with the Implementation Agreement’s quarterly obligations.
- Resolve all queries related to Economic Development Reporting received from IPP (Independent Power Producer) Office with turnaround time
- Liaise with the third party auditor and provide them with all the reports submitted in the former Quarters and all the evidences to ensure compliance, at least within one month following the end of each Contract Year
- Coordinate the month end process, and ensure completeness, accuracy and reliability of financial data
- Provide monthly reporting to the CFO and to the headquarters in Italy.
- Review financial information for the full year including the cash flow, net income as well as the balance sheet review
- Review management reports for 12 operating companies for submission to external and internal stakeholders
- Preparation of board reporting 2021 budget, and submission of board pack.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Qualified CA(SA) is strongly preferred
- At least 5-8 years’ experience of post articles experience in a Economic Development planning and control function
- 2-3 years formal management or leadership experience
- Experience in the renewable/oil and gas environment advantageous
- Formal experience and knowledge of budgeting, financial analysis, investment management
- Formal experience and knowledge of profitability analysis for projects/structures
- Formal experience and knowledge of analysis and cost controls
- Good proficiency in SAP is compulsory
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
Package & Remuneration
- Salary: R60 000 per month
- 12 Month Fixed term Contract (Not permanent)
