Brenntag SA is looking for an experienced Application Specialist in the Food and Nutrition business unit. The Application Specialist is primarily responsible for driving food and nutrition concepts, product development, application and technical support to business development managers and sales team. The role requires providing mandates on a broad range of food and nutrition products, it encompasses formulation, process development, project management and technical assistance. The Application Specialist is also responsible for contributing to business growth by identifying suitable ingredients that can be used in final product applications.
Managing key development, product applications and technical support in the Innovation & Application Centre (I&AC)
Provides product development support for sales team and BDS
Assists in developing of supplier ingredients within SA and neighbouring countries
Focus on building a product and ingredient database to support product pipeline development.
Maintains extensive knowledge of current product trends and market developments as it pertains to NPD.
Identifies new business opportunities and captures all developments on Formula 1/SalesForce VAS.
Attends industry events
Work closely with BDS to identify new Renovation and Innovation Initiatives

Tertiary qualification in Food Sciences/Technology/Nutrition
