"Apprenticeship" is a work-based learning program under the supervision and guidance of a skilled, qualified Artisan with an employer. In addition, the apprentices attend formal instruction sessions at a designated training facility to learn the theory of the national Technical Certificate Courses.
Position Outputs
Expected outcome is the ability to plan and prepare work site, equipment, tools, consumables and materials for trade related activities and operations, use hand, power and measuring tools, install, assemble, fit, connect electrical equipment and control systems. Test, inspect, commission, maintain and repair electrical equipment, control systems, installations, assemblies etc
Qualifications and Experience
N2 Subjects: Diesel Trade Theory, Engineering Drawing, Engineering Science, Mathematics (Pure) or N3-N6 Subjects: Mechano-technics, Mathematics (Pure), Engineering Science, Engineering Drawing or NCV Level 4: Fundamentals, First Additional Language (English), Mathematics (Pure), Life Orientation, Vocational subjects , Engineering Process, Professional Engineering Practice, Applied Engineering Technology, Automotive Repairs & Maintenance or Technical grade 12: Life Orientation, Mathematics (Pure), Engineering and graphic design, Home language, First additional language, Physical Science, Fitting and Machining, Mechanical Technology (Automotive). Age between 18 and 35.
