Apprenticeship (Mechanical Fitter) at Steinmuller Africa

Main Purpose: 

The Apprenticeship system is a well-known technical training system, including practical and theoretical components offered in designated trades to achieve artisan status.

Key Performance Areas:

• The Apprenticeship spans over a minimum period of 18 months and a maximum period of four (4) years.
• The candidates will have to complete the prescribed merSETA modules and gain practical experience during the period to qualify for a trade test.
• The candidates will have to pass the applicable trade test in order to qualify as an Artisan before the end of the Apprenticeship period.
• At the end of the apprenticeship and successful completion of the Trade test the candidate will have a formal qualification equivalent to NQF level 4 as a Qualified Artisan in Mechanical Fitting.
• Complete various tasks/assignments as allocated by the Mentor/Training Officer.
• Provide practical support to production/site as and when required.

Preferred Requirements:

• Nated 6 National Higher Certificate is a minimum requirement for this specific opportunity.  
• Physically and medically fit.
• Clear criminal record.
• 35 years of age or younger.
• Proof of residence (municipality account).
• No accommodation or transport will be provided and therefore successful candidates will have to be willing to relocate to Bethal or the surrounding areas if they do not already live locally.
• Candidates applying for the positions must reside within the Standerton/Tutuka Power Station area.
