PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• Fabricates and installation of metal products using various welding techniques to support our operations in Boksburg.

• Work Centre Manager

• “Dotted line reporting” Position title if any

Direct reports:

• None

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

• Installation of locomotive components as per welding procedure.
• Operate hand and power tools.
• Set up and operate welding machines.
• Identity welding defects and repair.
• Assembling
• Read and interpret technical specifications and drawing layouts.
• Inspect components preparations prior to working procedure.
• Exercise skills and knowledge of welding trade qualification
• Correctly instruct, and transfer skills to any apprentice and semi-skilled worked assigned to you to ensure safety and quality of work
• House keeping duties
• Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures
• Support with adhoc operational activites to support production as and when required

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

• Minimum Grade 12 / N3
• Formal Trade Qualification in Boilermaker

Experience

Mandatory:

• At least 3 - 5 years relevant experience in Boilermaking

• Able to read and identify welding symbols on drawings
• Able to butt weld filet weld in different positions
